 FAQ

Why do you need details of my Optician?

The law requires that we can only send lenses to a patient who has had an eye examination and a contact lens prescription within the last twelve months. We need details of your Optician to confirm this.

Will the Optician give me details of my contact lenses?

Yes. If you have had a contact lens examination within the last twelve months, your optician is required by law to give you full details of your contact lens prescription. This should include the brand of contact lenses together with a full specification. You should be given this information without further charge. However, if you need an updated prescription, you would normally be expected to pay for a further contact lens aftercare appointment.

Can I use a spectacle prescription?

No. A spectacle prescription does not contain sufficient information to replace your contact lenses.

Are they the same lenses I get from my Optician?

Yes. We only supply lenses that are identical to those you received from your optician. If you wish to change to a different brand or type of contact lens, you would have to see your optician and be refitted by him or her.

Can I just send you the packets from my lenses?

It can be helpful if you supply us with your contact lens packets,
however we are still legally required to have confirmation from
your Optician or Optometrist

How soon will I receive my contact lenses?

Providing your optician confirms the necessary information. Your lenses will be dispatched by first class post in 2 - 4 working days

For how long is a contact lens prescription valid?

One year. After this you must attend your eye care professional for an after-care examination. After this you should be issued with a new contact lens prescription.

I wear my optician's own brand lenses, what should I order?

All optician's own label lenses are simply branded lenses in a different package. Simply call our operator with the details and we will confirm the brand and price.

What if I develop problems with my lenses?

You can call +44 (0)20 8445 9661 or email us at problems@contactlensesUK.net. However for serious pain or discomfort in your eyes, immediately remove your lenses and consult your Optician. If in doubt, take them out

What guarantees do you provide?

All lenses are supplied with our no quibble guarantee; the cost of any pack of lenses returned with undamaged packaging will be refunded in full. Any damaged lens returned will be replaced by return of post

  I

s it safe to order on line?

Yes. There has been no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128-bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Why are your prices so low?

We do not have the expenses of Opticians with high street shops. We buy huge quantities of contact lenses, and pass the discounts that we receive on to you. Opticians also have expensive premises and other costs which we do not have to allow for in our prices.
